Various ROSE Formulas

Top notes: aldehyde C-10, bergamot, neroli, rose geranium, geranyl butyrate, citronellyl acetate, hydroxycitronellal, cassie, linalool

Middle notes: Grasse rose, Bulgarian rose, isoeugenol, cinnamic alcohol, rhodium oil, phenylethyl alcohol, phenylacetaldehyde, ylang ylang, orange blossom, methyl anthranilate, ionone

Base notes: benzyl acetate, orris, rosewood, sandalwood, ambergris, storax, vetiver, patchouli, oakmoss, musk, musk ambrette, Siam benzoin, vanillin

Esprit de Rose: The compound perfume sold under this name is commonly made as follows: 

• Esprit de rose simple finest 1 pt 
• essence of ambergris 0.5 fl dr 
• oil of rose geranium 0.5 fl dr 

Mix. Delicately fragrant. 

Spirit of Rose: 

• Oil of rose 2 dr 
• oil of rose geranium 1 dr 
• deodorized alcohol 16 oz 

The oil of rose geranium is added to give permanence to the spirit.

 

BULGARIAN ROSE (Oriental):

• Natural oil of rose (Bulgarian) 20 parts
• Geraniol 20 parts
• Citronellol 10 parts
• Phenylethyl alcohol 10 parts
• Phenylacetaldehyde 50 per cent 5 parts
• Rhodinol sufficient 

To make 100 parts

FRENCH ROSE: 

• Rose absolute 20 parts 
• Phenylethyl alcohol 10 parts 
• Citronellol 15 parts 
• Phenylpropyl alcohol 10 parts 
• Isoeugenol 5 parts 
• Rhodinol 14 parts 
• Aldehyde C-10, 10 per cent 1 parts 
• Geraniol sufficient,

To make 100 parts 

WHITE ROSE EXTRACT: 

• Rhodinol 14 cc 
• Citronellol 14 cc 
• Geraniol 42 cc
• Phenylacetic aldehyde 3 cc 
• Phenylethyl alcohol 15.75 cc
• Decyl aldehyde 10 per cent in alcohol 2 cc  
• Eugenol 0.25 cc 
• Cinnamic alcohol 2 cc 
• Ionone 5 cc  
• Linalool from bois de rose 6.25 cc 
• Rose absolute 20.25 Gm
• Oil of rose, Bulgarian  3.50 cc 
• Oil of patchouli 3 cc 
• Oil of geranium, African 10 cc 
• Oil of bergamot 10 cc 
• Vanillin 5 cc
• Phenylethyl acetate 2 cc 
• Oil of ylang ylang, Manila 2 cc 
• Methyl anthranilate 5 cc 1 
• Oleoresin of oak moss 3 cc 
• Musk ambrette 20 per cent solution in benzyl benzoate 50 cc 
• Tincture of Siam benzoin 25 per cent in alcohol 129 cc 

Mix and age before filtering. 

JACQUEMINOT ROSE:  

• 21 parts geraniol 
• 11.25 parts phenyl ethyl alcohol 
• 10.5 parts citronellol 
• 6.5 parts Nerol 
• 0.5 parts  citronellyl acetate 
• a little aldehyde C10 

CHEROKEE ROSE:

• 18 parts  citronellol 
• 12 parts  Nerol 
• 9 parts  phenyl ethyl alcohol  
• 4 parts  hydroxycitronellal  
• 44 parts  benzyl acetate  
• 3 parts geraniol  

TEA ROSE:

• Essence of rose 4 oz 
• spirit of rose 8 oz 
• spirit of santal 2 oz 
• essence of orange flowers 1 oz 
• tincture of orris 1 oz 
• oil of rose geranium drops 

WILD ROSE:

• Extract of rose 550 parts 
• extract of acacia 150 parts 
• extract of orange flower 150 parts 
• triple extract of rose 146 parts 
• oil of neroli pet 2 parts 
• oil of verbena 2 parts
